Over the past two weeks I did a little bit of online shopping ready for summer. It is a little ironic given the weather but it's good to be prepared (& hopeful). Anyway first came the Meek-N-Mild a.k.a Shirleybeniang's blog sale.

H&M Sunglasses |
I've always wanted a pair of sunglasses like these and they're PERFECT for summer! Plus they were only £2!
|
H&M Hat |
I was a bit unsure on whether to buy this hat because I knew exactly how to style it and I had items in my wardrobe that would go perfect with this hat. But I kept thinking when am I going to wear it? It was only £5 so I thought I might aswell as I'd regret it when the opportunity would arise.

Zara Heels |
This was the purchase I was most excited for. I'd realised I didn't have any basic heels that would go with most outfits that were summery. And then I came across these beauties :) They're perfect as there is no detail to clash with anything and the colour brown pretty much goes with anything. Also they were only £20 which for a good pair of high heels is cheap, plus they were from Zara. The starting price for most heels in Zara is £40 and they're kitten heels. Such a steal!
Next was Boots! I'd had my eye on the Revlon Lip Butter in shade Candy Apple for ages and I was just browsing the website and saw a 3 for 2 deal on the lip butters. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to build up my lip butter collection. I got Candy Apple, Creme Brulee and Macaroon.

(t-b) Creme Brulee, Macaroon, Candy Apple |
I was kinda regretting buying Creme Brulee after buying it because the actual stick/bullet (whatever you call it) looks brown and I don't think brown lips would look that attractive but once applying it this morning its the perfect nude colour. By far is it the best nude lip colour I've ever tried! Candy Apple Isn't as red as I'd liked to it have been but it has got a colour of orange mixed into it which I like. And of course Macaroon is great, it is a bit darker than what I wanted but oh well :)

'The tin of goodies' as I'm calling it |

Boots have a deal on at the moment where if you spend £15 on
selected Max Factor makeup you get a free gift. The gift includes mascara,
lipstick, nailpolish, eyebrow pencil, foundation and a cream blush. In the tin
you get 4 out of the 6. All of course samples but still 6 Max Factor products
for around £15!

Best mascara ever |
I took this as an opportunity to re-purchase my favourite
mascara – False Lash Effect. This mascara is unbelievable! It gives my lashes
so much volume especially my bottom lashes which is what I look for in mascara.
Plus it makes my lashes stand out even when I’ve got a smoky eye.
Next that caught my eye was a Nailfinity nailpolish in ruby
fruit. The colour is gorgeous as it looks maroon from a distance yet up close
you can see tints of ruby. The only downside is it chips easily, but maybe that’s
just my heavy-handedness.

In the free gift (which can I say has such a pretty
packaging) I got Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink. I don’t
know what to think of this product, when I first applied it, it was a shocking
pink and I did have to blend it well to get it to a nice shade of pink. However
after 10-20 minutes it disappeared and I had to re-apply it. So I’m unsure on
whether I like this blush.
Also I got Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara which I think
I got in a Cheryl Cole free gift aswell. I fell in love with this mascara in
the Cheryl box so I don’t know why I never repurchased it, so it’s great to
have it again. Like I said I love this mascara it’s the perfect combination
between volume and length and also it has plastic bristles which I’m coming to
realise I prefer.
Next I got Max Factor Colour Collections Lipstick in English
Rose. I’m a little annoyed I got this as I got the exact same shade in Cheryl’s
box and I have to say I hate this lipstick. The colour itself is great but the
lipstick is so drying! I know for definite I won’t be purchasing they’re
lipsticks.
Finally I got Max Factor nail polish in Passion Red. I haven’t
tried this yet but I know it’ll be good. Max Factor’s nail polishes are always
good, plus the colour is great vibrant red :)
Yesterday I went to Manchester to do some last minute prom shopping
(2 days to go :D). First I went to Debenhams to try and find a clutch bag. For
some unknown reason they had no clutch bags whatsoever! I mean they had
purses/wallets and bags, but no clutch bags. I couldn’t wrap my head round it!
So I went all over Manchester looking for a simple black clutch bag. I went to
Lipsy, H&M, River Island, Quiz and All Saints (I did find one in All Saints
but it was £56 – I tad overpriced for something I could just fit my phone and a
lipstick in!). Finally I went to Next, where I finally found one. I have to say
I don’t exactly like it but I was tired, frustrated and I was walking round
with red eyebrows (more on that later). It’s a lot bigger than I wanted aswell
but I guess that means more room for makeup for touch-ups.
I then went to Superdrug to pick up Gosh’s Classic
Foundation Primer. I got a sample of this maybe 2 years ago in a magazine and I’ve
always wanted to buy the full product. When I first used the primer, I swear I’ve
never felt my skin feel so soft and velvety! It has to be one of the best
primers out there as I can’t see anything being any better that it. I never got
round to buying it though and I guess I used prom as an excuse to finally buy
it.
I also bought some deodorant from Superdrug, but I don’t really think I need to
blog about it :/
Next I went Boots and that place was what you could call
packed! It was awful. Anyway I picked up some L’oreal Excell 10 hairdye. I only
dye by hair 2 weeks ago but I very embarrassingly missed some blonde bits :/
Plus my roots have started to get a brown tint to it because of the shampoo I’d
been using. (A tip for people that colour their hair – don’t use fruity
shampoos like Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly). There isn’t much I can say
about this other than it being a good, quick hair dye.
Also I picked up some new eyelashes. I was going to get the
new Katy Perry ones but they didn’t seem to have any L But then what caught my eye
was the Girls Aloud 10th Anniversary Celebration Lashes. These
lashes are pretty stunning I have to say. They gradually get thicker and darker
towards the end, which would be amazing with anything from a winged eyeliner to
a smoky eye. I haven’t used them yet though but I expect them to be good.
Finally I re-purchased my staple powder. I have used this
powder for years and it’s great. It gives my skin an amazing matte look without
it looking cakey. Also it is a clarifying powder meaning it minimizes skin
breakouts, which is always a bonus. The only downside to this powder is that it
breaks very easily. So I just don’t drop it and you’ll be fine. I use shade 021
Transparent.
Okay so the story of the red face. I went into Debenhams
mainly for the reason of going to the Benito Brow Bar to get my eyebrows threaded
as I had a voucher. So when I gave the woman the voucher I could tell she took
a disliking to me because I wasn’t paying. I lay in the chair and well I didn’t
know what to expect, all I did know was that it would hurt. OH MY GOD! I have
never felt pain like it! I seriously wanted to cry, luckily I was lay down
meaning no tears leaked out. The whole experience was just generally painful.
Also my eye makeup smudged all over the place due to 1) the watery eyes and 2)
I had pull the skin around my eyebrow taut, which meant touching my eyelid.
When it had finished the woman just sat me up and handed me a card and walked
away. I just thought ‘well you’re a little rude aren’t you’. Believe me when I
say I’m never having my eyebrows threaded from there again! Finally a word of
warning, NEVER get your eyebrows threaded before you go shopping, because you’ll
be walking around with the skin around your eyebrows being a bright red. And
you look like an idiot!
