Collective Haul!

Hi!
I'm sorry I've been a bit m.i.a. recently, but I've just been busy with general life. Mostly stressing about this coming Thursday. RESULTS DAY!
Anyway last week I went visiting family in London which meant lots of shopping adventures were to come :)

The first couple of purchases were before London as I needed some bits and pieces as the weather was gonna be hot (well it was supposed to be)

New Look
It was sort of love at first sight with these shorts, they're perfect for a hot summers day :)
New Look
I've been looking for a peace belt for ages. I had my eye on a skinny version of this from Topshop but never got round to buying it. I like the chunkier version better (+ it was cheaper :D)
Select
I needed a new bikini.... I bought a new bikini....
New Look
Again I'd had my eye on Topshop's Leigh jeans in a blue acid wash colour for ages, but when I tried these on they felt almost as soft and stretchy as the Leigh jeans and once again cheaper :) I seriously recommend these jeans :)
New Look
This was a seriously random purchase! I'm still trying to incorporate it into an outfit so i'm sorta regretting purchasing it. I do love the floral print though as it isn't an 'in your face' print. Also the material is very silky and soft which I LOVE!
Next
This is a re-purchase of my favourite black skinny jeans from Next. My old pair was basically on its last legs after wearing them at any chance I could... They are so comfy!!!
I needed a new foundation so I thought I'd see what all the hype was about Bourjois's Healthy Mix foundation and I love it! It evens out my complexion amazingly! I can't believe I've not bought it sooner!

Now for the London purchases....

The first day we went out, we went to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo
It's obvious I'm still a kid at heart and couldn't resist buying a tiger and a panda teddy... they are my favourite animals after all which is why I also bought a tiger statue/ornament...
CUTE!

EVEN CUTER!

And then came the real shopping :D

Topshop
I've wanted a pair of shorts like these for ages and when I was browsing the sales I found this lovely pair. I was like the seagulls in Finding Nemo.. 'MINE!'
Freedom, Topshop
Such a great necklace! An amazing way to complete an outfit :)
Freedom, Topshop
Impulse sale purchase, but they're just so pretty!
Freedom, Topshop
I LOVE these bracelets! I like the way that they're all different shades of gold and different sizes.
Topshop
I finally bought a pair of Leigh jeans and I am so happy. They are so comfortable its unreal! If they wasn't so expensive I'd buy one in every colour.. maybe even two!
Office
Once again an impulse buy. It was love at first sight with these shoes! They have literally been on my feet everyday, I never want to take them off :)

David & Goliath
Do you get it? As soon as I entered the shop and saw this I knew I had to buy it. It is sort of made for me, with me being a vegetarian and all. This top is super soft and super comfy! I want to start collecting David & Goliath tops now, they are so funny and adorable :D
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rebelle
I saved this till last as this is my first ever Chanel lipstick, no word of a lie I wanted to cry when I bought this. I feel that in a girls life, moments like the purchase of their first designer lipstick will stay with them for the rest of they're fashion/beauty life. (I didn't want to say whole life as obviously there are more important things than a lipstick - didn't want to come across in the wrong way :/ ) But anyway.. best shopping day ever!

Once again sorry for the lack of posts I promise to start posting more regularly. Now I'm off to go stare at my Chanel lipstick for the billionth time :)

A bit of a catch up.....

Long time no speak :) i'm pretty much in the middle of The Challenge and I have to say its going well. I'm covered head to toe in bruises and midge bites from last week

Also i have to say when they call it the 'challenge', they really mean it. I mean I seriously think I may have been pushed a little bit too far over the edge last week.
Anyway I am currently in Preston doing the second week of the challenge (which is called the Team Challenge). Today was the first full day and I have to say it went pretty well. I have no confidence whatsoever, so I was surprised that I got up and did 2 presentations and came 3rd out of 10 teams :D
This week I'm basically going to make a short film advertising a charity or company that helps victims in general whether that is rape, drugs, abuse
I just wanted to say hi whilst I had some free time plus some internet.
P.s I found this quote whilst roaming around twitter. Since being on the challenge I've started to really think about me and my life and who I want to be in my life so this quote really spoke to me.

En Route to Scotland

I am going to Scotland tomorrow for a week to do all sorts of things... hiking, canoeing, abseiling e.t.c. Anyway I thought I'd give you a guide as to what I'm packing :)

I won't go into detail as to what clothes I'm taking as its basically hoodies, joggers and basic tops.

I don't know whether any girls are planning on wearing makeup so as a precaution I'm taking:

  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - Light
  • Benefit Bad Gal Eyeliner - Black
  • Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara
  • Carmex Cherry Lip Balm
Hygiene
  • Tresemme Colour Fade Protection Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Noble Isle Summer Rising Shower Gel
  • Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste (+ toothbrush)

  • Avon Solutions Complete Balance Foam Cleanser
  • Dove Maximum Protection Deodrant

General
I'm allergic to mosquito bites, I wouldnt say I'm highly allergic though. (It's not like if I were to get bit I'd die) But the area around the bite does get very swollen. Ok I'm sorry for that unnecessary detail :/ Anyway I think my dad went a bit OTT though with trying to protect me! I mean 3 types of creams and a repellent spray with the highest factor!
  • Jungle Formula Bite & Sting Relief Spray
  • Boots Bite & Sting Relief Antihistamine Cream
  • Witch Doctor Skin Treatment Gel
  • Jungle Formula Maximum Insect Repellent - Factor 4
  • Garnier Ambre Solaire SPF50 Protection Lotion
  • Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

I'll try & get as many posts up as I can over the next 3 weeks but I can't promise that it'll be a consistent schedule. I've neglected this blog over the past couple of weeks, but I promise once The Challenge is over which is near the end of July, I am going to get into a schedule :)

Collective Haul! - Boots, Meek-N-Mild Blog Sale e.t.c & my experience of Eyebrow Threading :)

Over the past two weeks I did a little bit of online shopping ready for summer. It is a little ironic given the weather but it's good to be prepared (& hopeful). Anyway first came the Meek-N-Mild a.k.a Shirleybeniang's blog sale.

H&M Sunglasses
I've always wanted a pair of sunglasses like these and they're PERFECT for summer! Plus they were only £2!
H&M Hat
I was a bit unsure on whether to buy this hat because I knew exactly how to style it and I had items in my wardrobe that would go perfect with this hat. But I kept thinking when am I going to wear it? It was only £5 so I thought I might aswell as I'd regret it when the opportunity would arise.
Zara Heels
This was the purchase I was most excited for. I'd realised I didn't have any basic heels that would go with most outfits that were summery. And then I came across these beauties :) They're perfect as there is no detail to clash with anything and the colour brown pretty much goes with anything. Also they were only £20 which for a good pair of high heels is cheap, plus they were from Zara. The starting price for most heels in Zara is £40 and they're kitten heels. Such a steal!

Check out http://shop-meek-n-mild.tumblr.com for some really cheap purchases! :)

Next was Boots! I'd had my eye on the Revlon Lip Butter in shade Candy Apple for ages and I was just browsing the website and saw a 3 for 2 deal on the lip butters. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to build up my lip butter collection. I got Candy Apple, Creme Brulee and Macaroon.

(l-r) Creme Brulee, Macaroon, Candy Apple

(t-b) Creme Brulee, Macaroon, Candy Apple
I was kinda regretting buying Creme Brulee after buying it because the actual stick/bullet (whatever you call it) looks brown and I don't think brown lips would look that attractive but once applying it this morning its the perfect nude colour. By far is it the best nude lip colour I've ever tried! Candy Apple Isn't as red as I'd liked to it have been but it has got a colour of orange mixed into it which I like. And of course Macaroon is great, it is a bit darker than what I wanted but oh well :)
'The tin of goodies' as I'm calling it

Boots have a deal on at the moment where if you spend £15 on selected Max Factor makeup you get a free gift. The gift includes mascara, lipstick, nailpolish, eyebrow pencil, foundation and a cream blush. In the tin you get 4 out of the 6. All of course samples but still 6 Max Factor products for around £15!
Best mascara ever

I took this as an opportunity to re-purchase my favourite mascara – False Lash Effect. This mascara is unbelievable! It gives my lashes so much volume especially my bottom lashes which is what I look for in mascara. Plus it makes my lashes stand out even when I’ve got a smoky eye.

Next that caught my eye was a Nailfinity nailpolish in ruby fruit. The colour is gorgeous as it looks maroon from a distance yet up close you can see tints of ruby. The only downside is it chips easily, but maybe that’s just my heavy-handedness.

The pink blob nearest to this caption :)

In the free gift (which can I say has such a pretty packaging) I got Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink. I don’t know what to think of this product, when I first applied it, it was a shocking pink and I did have to blend it well to get it to a nice shade of pink. However after 10-20 minutes it disappeared and I had to re-apply it. So I’m unsure on whether I like this blush.

Also I got Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara which I think I got in a Cheryl Cole free gift aswell. I fell in love with this mascara in the Cheryl box so I don’t know why I never repurchased it, so it’s great to have it again. Like I said I love this mascara it’s the perfect combination between volume and length and also it has plastic bristles which I’m coming to realise I prefer.

Next I got Max Factor Colour Collections Lipstick in English Rose. I’m a little annoyed I got this as I got the exact same shade in Cheryl’s box and I have to say I hate this lipstick. The colour itself is great but the lipstick is so drying! I know for definite I won’t be purchasing they’re lipsticks.

Finally I got Max Factor nail polish in Passion Red. I haven’t tried this yet but I know it’ll be good. Max Factor’s nail polishes are always good, plus the colour is great vibrant red :)

Yesterday I went to Manchester to do some last minute prom shopping (2 days to go :D). First I went to Debenhams to try and find a clutch bag. For some unknown reason they had no clutch bags whatsoever! I mean they had purses/wallets and bags, but no clutch bags. I couldn’t wrap my head round it! So I went all over Manchester looking for a simple black clutch bag. I went to Lipsy, H&M, River Island, Quiz and All Saints (I did find one in All Saints but it was £56 – I tad overpriced for something I could just fit my phone and a lipstick in!). Finally I went to Next, where I finally found one. I have to say I don’t exactly like it but I was tired, frustrated and I was walking round with red eyebrows (more on that later). It’s a lot bigger than I wanted aswell but I guess that means more room for makeup for touch-ups.

I then went to Superdrug to pick up Gosh’s Classic Foundation Primer. I got a sample of this maybe 2 years ago in a magazine and I’ve always wanted to buy the full product. When I first used the primer, I swear I’ve never felt my skin feel so soft and velvety! It has to be one of the best primers out there as I can’t see anything being any better that it. I never got round to buying it though and I guess I used prom as an excuse to finally buy it.

I also bought some deodorant from Superdrug, but I don’t really think I need to blog about it :/

Next I went Boots and that place was what you could call packed! It was awful. Anyway I picked up some L’oreal Excell 10 hairdye. I only dye by hair 2 weeks ago but I very embarrassingly missed some blonde bits :/ Plus my roots have started to get a brown tint to it because of the shampoo I’d been using. (A tip for people that colour their hair – don’t use fruity shampoos like Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly). There isn’t much I can say about this other than it being a good, quick hair dye.

Also I picked up some new eyelashes. I was going to get the new Katy Perry ones but they didn’t seem to have any L But then what caught my eye was the Girls Aloud 10th Anniversary Celebration Lashes. These lashes are pretty stunning I have to say. They gradually get thicker and darker towards the end, which would be amazing with anything from a winged eyeliner to a smoky eye. I haven’t used them yet though but I expect them to be good.

Finally I re-purchased my staple powder. I have used this powder for years and it’s great. It gives my skin an amazing matte look without it looking cakey. Also it is a clarifying powder meaning it minimizes skin breakouts, which is always a bonus. The only downside to this powder is that it breaks very easily. So I just don’t drop it and you’ll be fine. I use shade 021 Transparent.

Okay so the story of the red face. I went into Debenhams mainly for the reason of going to the Benito Brow Bar to get my eyebrows threaded as I had a voucher. So when I gave the woman the voucher I could tell she took a disliking to me because I wasn’t paying. I lay in the chair and well I didn’t know what to expect, all I did know was that it would hurt. OH MY GOD! I have never felt pain like it! I seriously wanted to cry, luckily I was lay down meaning no tears leaked out. The whole experience was just generally painful. Also my eye makeup smudged all over the place due to 1) the watery eyes and 2) I had pull the skin around my eyebrow taut, which meant touching my eyelid. When it had finished the woman just sat me up and handed me a card and walked away. I just thought ‘well you’re a little rude aren’t you’. Believe me when I say I’m never having my eyebrows threaded from there again! Finally a word of warning, NEVER get your eyebrows threaded before you go shopping, because you’ll be walking around with the skin around your eyebrows being a bright red. And you look like an idiot!
